Made From Alberta
Natural clays are marvelous!! There is nothing more satisfying than making use of your local resources to express yourself.
Most governments around the world maintain natural resource data bases and Alberta (where I live) has extensive information on the variety of clays here. The most comprehensive information was compiled in 1991 by Dr. Don Scafe. This is a list of over 2,000 clays, firing temperatures, plasticity and more.

This is a video of the sound of local Calgary Alberta clay. It was fired at cone 02 and is quite dense. The colour is very authentic.
This is an image of flood clay, deposited near the Bow River in Calgary. It has the characteristic clay pattern that inspires my work.
